Getting to full text used to mean chasing links across publishers, proxies and dead ends. LibKey removed that friction by resolving a citation to the article a reader can actually open, and by signalling retractions and expressions of concern before the article is used. Access was the first bottleneck. It was not the last one.

The steps that follow carry their own friction. Building a search strategy and getting records into a project. Finding the full text for every included record, then attaching it. Keeping track of what is still missing, what has been requested on loan, and what could not be obtained at all. Many teams still run those steps from a spreadsheet kept on one person’s laptop.
